HOW TO USE YOUR “AT HOME SOLARIUM” FOR BEST RESULTS
These tips have been written for our entry level sunbed, the Salsa 12. If you are using any other model, & need advice, please contact our office. PACE YOURSELF: Start off with 10 minutes per side of your body. Set the timer for the first 10 minutes, turn over and set the timer for the second 10 minutes. Don’t exceed 10 minutes per side for your first couple of sessions, gradually build your exposure time up by adding 5 minutes per side every couple of sessions. If using a Salsa12 the canopy should be approximately 15 centimetres above you. You may wish to lower the solarium after your first couple of sessions. We recommend you never exceed 30 minutes per side of your body. Remember, you are not restricted to a set number of sessions. 
SKIN TYPES: Some people tan easier and faster than others. About 4-5 sessions should produce your tan. Fair skinned people may need extra sessions and it is preferable to do this rather than increase your exposure time per session. Please refer to our Skin Analysis page to find out your skin type. We will need to know this before we can advise you. LOTIONS: Only use quality tan accelerators whilst under the solarium. Refer to our Lotions page for recommended lotions. If not using one of our lotions we suggest using a good moisturizing lotion after your tanning session, this will help lock your tan in and keep your skin supple. Cosmetics and perfumes should not be worn whilst using the solarium, they can block your pores and cause skin irritations. Fresh clean skin is advised. EYES: Please use the goggles provided as a safety measure, just like sunglasses for a sunny day. COMPLETELY NUDE OR NOT? In the privacy of your home why not? An all over tan may appeal to you, however it is nice to have a spot or two to remind you what a great tan you have. BE CAREFUL – breasts, bottoms and other areas have thinner layers of skin which are more sensitive whether they have been exposed to the world before or not. Limit exposure time for sensitive areas by covering them part way through a tanning session. 
MEDICAL REASONS: The warmth of your solarium and the tanned colour of your skin will make you feel healthier and more confident. U.V. light is often recommended by skin specialists for the treatment of Psoriasis, Eczema and some acne conditions. The Salsa12 UVB model is ideal if you respond favorably to UVB light treatment (see Salsa12 link on our home page for more info). CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR regarding the use of your solarium if you are pregnant, taking prescription medication or notice any abnormal skin reactions developing during the tanning session. Some drugs can make your skin very sensitive to U.V. light. If your skin feels tight or slightly irritated do not use the solarium the next day or two. Give your skin a rest and perhaps raise the solarium canopy five or six centimetres. THE EQUIPMENT:(SALSA12) Your solarium can be connected to any 240V outlet. No pre-heating time is required. Operation is via the timer. Just turn the timer to desired time setting to activate. The solarium is on a moveable stand so it can be moved out of the way, if necessary. A bedroom is the ideal location, we advise against use in the bathroom. YOU LIKED IT THAT MUCH! If you wish to extend your hire period please try to give us as much notice as possible, so someone else won’t be disappointed. If we are not notified at least 3 working days prior to expiration of the hire period, we cannot guarantee you will be able to keep the machine. If you feel that you can’t let the machine leave your home you can buy it.
